ADDICTION:  How It Affects You and Your Family

We have updated our community education series, but we have not changed our purpose - to help families understand how chemical dependency and other addictions affect them, and what they can do
about it.

Last Frontier Council Scout Service Center
3031 N.W. 64th Street
Oklahoma City, OK  73116

This on-going, six-part program deals with the many facets of chemical dependency, alcoholism, other drugs, and behavioral addictions. The series has a special significance for people who may be concerned about the addiction of a family member, a friend, or themselves. The program is offered free to the public on Monday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Topics include:

  • Understanding Chemical Dependency

  • How Addiction Affects Families

  • Enabling - The Helping That Hurts

  • Codependency - Hidden Fears, Hidden Tears

  • Intervention, Treatment and Recovery - Hope for Tomorrow

  • Understanding Addictive Behaviors

The entire series repeats itself every six weeks.  Out of respect for the participants and speakers, there will be no admittance after 6:30 p.m.  A cash fee may be applied for participants requiring verification of attendance.  Children under 18 years of age are required to attend with a parent or guardian.
