Life is challenging at times for all families.  Often children and their families can benefit from assistance in exploring new coping skills and strengthening their capacity to meet life’s challenges. Through professional observations, offering hope, and helping children and families develop positive problem-solving strategies, I strive to promote parental competence and demonstrate regard for every child.

I have been a practicing social worker and mental health professional in Oklahoma, serving children and their families for over 35 years.  I have received clinical training in Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health and Infant-Parent Psychotherapy.  For several years I worked directly with children who had developmental delays and disabilities and their families and have been professionally and personally involved in the prevention of child abuse & neglect and child sexual abuse.

My husband, a retired psychologist, and I have 5 children and 3 grandchildren.  We enjoy spending time together and with our family in the mountains or at the beach.  I am a survivor of breast cancer and understand in a very personal way how precious life is and how every day is a gift.

There is a light in this world,
A healing spirit more powerful than any darkness we may encounter.
We sometimes lose sight of this force
When there is suffering or too much pain.
Then suddenly, the spirit will emerge
Through the lives of ordinary people
Who hear a call
And answer
In extraordinary ways.
